Selection of the team
8 swimmers from each year/gender group are selected giving a total of 32 for the team.
Each team member will swim 1 individual event and 1 leg of either the Medley or Freestyle relays. The individual events are 50m and the relays are 4 x 25m.
Generally, those swimmers who come first or second in an event at the trials gala will be included in the team. However, this does not mean they will do that particular event, as an individual event, in the Herts Champs.
Both the the selection of the team and what each swimmer is swimming (individual and relay) is made to maximise the potential of the whole team. We consider all the events swimmers completed (and times) to decide on the make up of the team and what each person will swim.
