2024 Hertfordshire Primary Schools Championships
St Albans District wins the 2024 Herts Primary School Champs
Excellent performance from the St Albans District team to win the Rose Bowl trophy for winning the 2024 Herts Primary School Champs. The team also won all the 4 age group trophies Year 5 and 6 Boys and Girls as well as all the relays (including Squadron) and all the individual Freestyle events.
Well done to all the swimmers. This was the 9th win in 12 years and the 6th in a row!

St Albans District came a close 2nd to Dacorum. In another close race gala, it was Dacorum and St Albans who were neck and neck throughout the gala. A super performance by all the St Albans District swimmers.

St Albans District came a close 2nd to Watford. I one of the closest inter-district galas in years St Albans, Watford and Dacorum were neck and neck throughout the gala. An excellent effort by all the St Albans District swimmers.

The St Albans District team came a close 3rd in the 2013 Herts Primary Champs.

2012 Hertfordshire Primary Schools Championships
The Herts Primary School Champs was held on 11th May at the Woodside Leisure Centre pool, Watford.
The St Albans District team won the gala, beating East Herts by 19 points, a much smaller winning margin than in 2011.
The team was led by captain Katialin Dang, who recorded a new gala record to win the Year 6 Girls 50m Backstroke.
The Year 5 Boys and Year 6 Girls both won their respective year group trophies.
Other notable performances (1st or 2nd in event) Joseph Richardson, Timothy Hughes, Michael Ripper, Ben Muckleston, Eleanor Wood, and Nichole Fletcher.
The above eight swimmers will now go on to represent Hertfordshire in the English Schools Swimming Inter-county primary schools championships in June.
A fantastic effort by the team and to win the gala was supurb.

The Herts Primary School Champs was held on 20th May at the Woodside Leisure Centre pool, Watford.
The St Albans District team won the gala this time around, beating East Herts by 44 points. East Herts have won the gala for the last 5 years straight and also 13 out of the last 19. So, to beat East Herts and by a such a significant margin, was a super performance by the team.
The team was led by captain Nathan Hughes, who recorded a new gala record to win the Year 6 Boys 50m Butterfly. Also, Katialin Dang, who knocked 2 seconds off the existing 2007 record to win the Year 5 50m Backstroke.
Other notable performances (2nd or 3rd in event) came from Isobel Donovan, Piers Watford, Callum Keane, Freya Bennett, Monica Ong, Ralph Muncer, Ben Muckleston, Nicole Fletcher, Shannon Stott, David Hensman, Ben Galvin, and Cara Ffoulkes.
Around 8 swimmers from St Albans District will now go on to represent Hertfordshire in the English Schools Swimming Division 10 Inter-county primary schools championships in June.
Well done everyone in the team this year. It was a fantastic achievement both to win the gala and to do so with a such a large points margin.

The Herts Primary School Champs were held on 23rd April at the Woodside Leisure Centre pool, Watford.
The St Albans District team came within a whisker of winning! East Herts won the competition by 1 point, with St Albans District second. This was a magnificent achievement by the St Albans District swimmers, improving from 5th place last year.
Led by captain Chloe Arnold, the team put in an excellent performance with the Year 5 Girls and Year 5 Boys both winning their respective cups, Year 6 Girls coming second, and standout swims from Matthew Holt, Shannon Stott, Chloe Arnold and Juliet Merelie.
