2022 St Albans District Primary Schools team
Below is the team selected to represent St Albans District at the 2022 Hertfordshire Primary Schools Inter-District Swimming Championships on Friday 24th June, 2022 at Watford Woodside.
What team members swim
8 swimmers from each year/gender group are selected giving a total of 32 for the team.
Each team member swims a minimum of 2 events, 1 individual event and 1 leg of either the Medley or Freestyle relays. There is also a freestyle squadron comprising 2 swimmers in each year/gender totalling 8 swimmers. The individual events are 50m, the relays are 4 x 25m, and squadron 8 x 25m. For the individual events there is A and B heats, with times in each of the races combined and ranked - it does not matter whether a swimmer is in the A or B heat.
What each swimmer is swimming (individual and relay) is made to maximise the potential of the whole team. We consider all the events swimmers completed (and times) to decide on the make up of the team and what each person will swim. Those selected for the squadron are generally the 2 fastest Freestyle times in each group at the St Albans District champs.
