Well done to all the swimmers who made it into the top 10!!

We thank all the officials and helpers who gave up their time to make this gala such a successful one.

The St Albans District team for the 2026 Herts Inter-District Primary Championships will be published shortly. Generally. if a swimmer was 1st or 2nd in an event, they will be in the team. St Albans District Primary Schools Championship Cup 2026
  • The winner of the cup is generally that swimmer in their 2 best events (placed 1st to 3rd) had a better overall combined difference from Herts County qualification times than any other swimmer. The swimmer must have at least 1 winning event.
  • The Herts county qualification times used are: 10 years for Year 5's and 11 years for Year 6's (the 2015 qualification times for counties have been used as these are set at March and are used to approximate 1/2 way through the school year (Sept to Aug)).
  • It has to be recognised that this methodology is not completely foolproof and the performances over all events are looked at.
  • The Herts County qualification times are used as this currently is the best method to equalise the swimmers across years and boys/girls. Note that the 2015 times are used as after this Herts had only a combined age 10 and 11 years.
  • The 2nd to 10th places are calculated on the best two events irrespective if these were winning events (but must be 1st to 3rd place). The 2nd and 3rd places received the Best Performance awards.
  • Example of Championship cup score:
Year 6 Boys - Swimmer X with Free and Breast 2 best events (2nd place in Free and 1st place in Breast):
           Free 31.81s (v county qual time of 34.59s for Yr 6 Free) = -8.0%
           Breast 41.33s (v county qual time of 48.00s for Yr 6 Breast) = -13.9%
              Total -21.9%
